Hi Guys, this is my first post.

I have a vintage stereo system comprised of mostly Dynaco components.  I've up-graded or added to it through the years.  For many years they've been located in in a hutch-type cabinet.  The heavy amp and energy unit reside on a small redwood bench.  The pre-amp/tuner/EQ are on the center cabinet shelf.  The cd player and tape deck are stacked in the center compartment of the cabinet next to the TV.  The opening is 38" and with the other components next to it, I'm limited to a 20" TV.

I'd like to get a larger wide screen lcd tv but would have to move some components around.  The amp and energy unit are rack mountable as well as the Marantz CDR-500 or 510 that I'm considering.

I must admit that I don't know anything about rack systems.  I want to climb the learning ladder quickly.  The system is located in my living room.
I can keep some components in the cabinet and don't want to build a rack that reaches to the sky.

I'm looking for a cost-effective solution as well as something in keeping with my vintage system.  Any advice, links, good sources, things to know as well as things to avoid will be appreciated.

Here's my system

Dynaco 416, C-100 energy system, Pat5, SE-10, AF-6,
CD Player, Tape Deck
Marantz 6350Q TT

Here is an excellent diy solution...  http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/flexye.html

I used 3/4" all-thread (threaded rod) availabe from McMaster-Carr for the uprights... http://www.mcmaster.com/

Chris at Timbernations could even make you some beautiful pre-drilled shelving for the flexy if you lack the tools!

How about Usher's Hi Fi racks? (try contacting Response Audio...)

Here's a description in English...

I got one and this thing like weights half a ton (30kg) but its strong as hell... its made from solid wood (not MDF) and 3 of the shelves are adjustable.

Here's another DIY option.  I'm considering building this one myself.
