September Jam

Ok, guys (any girls?)... we have a host for September!  Thanks go to Brian71 for talking Advanced Home Theater Systems in Plano into hosting a jam for us!

This jam will be the followup to Art's jam, and the focus will be on speakers.  Take a look at the poll above, and vote on which day works better for you.  If neither one works, let us know that as well.  Note that we don't want to push it too much later, as we will have a bunch of borrowed gear that needs to get returned.

Advanced Home Theater Systems has two rooms set up as follows:

Room 1 (larger):
 - Von Schweikert VR4 Srs
 - Parasound Halo JC-1's
 - Halcro SSP-100 pre/pro
 - Esoteric DVD player

Room 1 (smaller):
 - Von Schweikert VR-2s
 - DK Design VS.1 integrated amp
 - Cary CD player

Swapping into these rooms will be the Salk HT1 monitors and the Focus Audio FS688 monitors.  If you have other speakers that you'd like to offer up, make a post and we'll see what happens.  In addition, if we determine a given source and/or amp from Art's jam seem to be exceptional performers, we might want to consider bringing them along as well - provided that the owner agrees.

So... thoughts and comments?

Edit: Corrected Focus model number and added links

Should I still bring the HT1 on 8/27?

As far as HT1's availability for the 2nd Jam, I'll have to check with Jim Salk.

Yes.

Already did.  I checked with Jim and Phil about keeping the speakers before ever suggesting a second jam (focused on speakers).

It would probably be  a good idea to check again, however, now that we (probably) have a firm date.

FWIW, the Focus FS688's will be there on 8/27 (my customer will bring them), so there will be flexibility...

I am interested in attending.  I could bring Onix Ref 1's if anyone is interested.  Either day would probably work but I voted for Sat.

Do we need the Opus for the Jam?  If not, I'm going to shoot it back to Phil.

I was assuming that stands wouldn't be a problem when hosting a jam in an audio store, but we should probably get confirmation of that from Brian.

I know it's crazy we don't have any stands but we always have towers in the showrooms.  We do have a nice pair of Monitor Audio RS6's that make nice stands.  ;)

I haven't heard or seen a reply from Danny or Gary so I'm not sure if either will make it.

I was planning on picking up some soda's and some munchies (goldfish, pretzels, something like that)  Feel free to bring anything if you'd like.
