I did not sign up to show at this year's RMAF.

My experience last year was not the best. At the time of sign-up I did not really have anything new to show.

Now that it is getting close to show time, I have the modded Squeezebox 2 to show off.

Mike Galusha has offered his house and system to display my new goodies.

This would be for just one evening. As to not overload Mike's place, I will just limit the invites to AC members. Let us say Saturday night.

Mike lives less than 5 minutes from the hotel where RMAF is being held.

I will provide beer from a local brewery

All from AC are welcome. You are also welcome to bring almost any gear you want to compare to what Mike has on hand.

At this point, the reference system will be Meadowlark Blue Heron 2s, R.E. Designs LNPA 150 Mono Block amplifiers, modded Squeezebox 2. Summit Interconnect cables and Nitro Plus Power Cables. I may bring over my Equi=Tech balanced Power conditioner to comapre with Mike's BPT.

Please RSVP

I would like to be there, too.  However, in the interest of interstate cooperation and giving Wayne the chance to have the AC crowd hear his latest mods and Mike the chance to show  the great things he has done with his system, I will stay at the hotel and get drunk. :D

I don't have a huge amount of space but visiting AC members are welcome. My wife has offered to provide munchies and of course Wayne is providing beer.

Jerry,

Interstate cooperation be damned, come on by. We can't have you sitting at the hotel drinking alone. Come drink with friends instead.

Just a reminder that BolderCable will be hosting a SB2 listening session at mgalusha's place next Saturday.

Please drop me a PM if you are going to be at RMAF and wish to attend.

I will have BEER for all attendees. There will be a few different SB2s with various levels of mods done to them for comparison.

I will also have a few different power supplies to compare.

I will bring a wi-fi PDA with TelCanto installed so all can give it a try. I REALLY like the ease of access this gives me to my music collection.

I will try to stop by RMAF for some beverages on Friday afternoon.

I hope to see you all next week.

As a newcomer to the AC, and to the RMAF, I was delighted to be able to join Wayne and the other AC'ers for this revealing SB2 demo get-together. Thanks to Mike and Wayne for hosting this event--great food, fine sound, nice people, and wonderful education.

The A/B/C comparisons Wayne played between the stock SB2 , the power supply-only mod, and full power and analog out mods, were very impressive--MUCH better bass, control of high -end detail, improved dynamics, and unravelling complex music passages with Wayne's mods. Distortion was almost entirely cleaned up from highs to lows, with much fyuller, richer sound. In playing Beethoven's 5th in particular,  there was truly a huge improvement from the raw stock player to Wayne's full mods-from rather mediocre to excellent in all aspects--night and day. Anyone wanting audiophile quality sound from the SB2 would be crazy not to seriously investigate Wayne's mods. Having heard the improvemets he has wrought, I'm a believer.

I want to thank everyone who stopped by Mike's place to take a listen.

The system was sounding VERY good that night. I personally thought it sounded better than most of what I heard at RMAF.

Thanks for posting the photos, Sean.

Thanks to Mike for hosting and the great BBQ.   :thumb:

Thanks to Wayne for organizing, bringing the SB2's (including my new one), the PDA+Telcanto software, and the beer.

Yes, I loved the PDA+Telcanto software and will almost certainly get one in the very near future.  As easy to use as the SB2 is, this combo brings it to a whole new level.

Sorry I couldn't make it to this get together, it looked like fun and Mike's system is completely different from the last time I was down there (except for the pre-amp).
