I got home from the MAF about 30 minutes ago.  Made for a very nice 20 hour day (11 of it driving).  In general though, the sound was disappointing.  In most rooms the tonal balance sounded badly off to me.  It must have been the room acoustics.  Only the Odyssey (with the SL pre) and the Bolder stuff sounded good.

I heard horn speakers for the first time.  I don't get it.  Sounded like music coming out of a horn.

Had a great time talking with people.  Had a very nice time with Klaus (his new low-cost amp is something to pay attention to!), met Michael Barnes from Norh, met Wayne from Bolder Cables, Mike Galusha, Jason Wong, aaird, and Woodsea.  Also talked with Marbles and Dr. Photo (I wish we could have had a pool rematch Joe!).  The 626R's with all the upgrades that Wayne had (Soundcoat, Auricaps, FST tweeter) sounded very nice.  The off-axis performance was amazing also.  Way, way better than I had with my RM1's.  The FST tweeter is _MUCH_ better than the old one.  I really had a great time hanging out with Wayne and the other guys in the Bolder Cables room.  They tried to turn me into an analog guy, but so far my resistance is holding...  :D   Unfortunately I couldn't stay long as I had to leave to drive back home.

Lima is a nice town.  I expected something out in the middle of nowhere but it's not like that at all.  Very nice city.

Guys, it was great seeing you all!  I hope you all get home safely.

Time for me to go to bed...
