Digital Phase AP-2

I am open to reactions to the above.

What I did, since I was getting nowhere with my main system that I am trying to build, I went ahead and ordered 2 of them, plus their center, for my vacation home HT.
Don't ask me why since the answer is a non-answer, I am aware of that:  I just was fed up and since this is a secondary system, I was, given the limited cost (all is relative!), willing to take a risk and experiment.

I have only listened to them a little bit, less that 2 hrs, and they are great, better than a number of speakers that I audiotioned during in my ongoing search for my main 2ch stuff.

I will do obviously some critical listening as soon as time allows, but for now I got to say it, I am impressed.  And this with a NAD 763 !

I've had a pair of the Digital Phase AP-1's for about 8 years now, and overall, have been quite pleased with them. Of the several pairs of speakers I own, these have often stayed in the system for months at a time. I tried the AP-2's first for a couple of weeks but they were too large for the room I had at the time. I loved loud rock played through them, and found them very good with most other types of music as well. They were a little forward in my setup, and visually overpowering in my narrow room. They are not your slim tower speaker by any description.

A couple of questions:  1).  How's the bass on these speakers?  2).  Is the manufacturer still in business?  3).  Are the prices on the website accurate?   Thanks.

Yes, they are still in business, I just talked with them. Forgot that Chattanooga is in the eastern time zone and accidently called them after hours. Oops! Intend to call back tomorrow about the other questions.

As for bass, these speakers do have a lot, and if not setup correctly or with non-synergetic equipment, can sound boomy or slow and loose. My AP-1's tend toward a warm, rich bass. From memory, the AP-2's are a little drier and punchier, and produce a much larger wall of sound. Not the last word in micro-detail, just a bit on the sins of omission side of things.

Hogg,
while I do have to do some serious listening, my first impression was that they have great bass, well balanced I would may be add,  I did not feel much missing at all in the lows.

Certainlly the company are still in business, I just bought mine from them !  Prices are actually lower than what you find on the web, at least for what I purchased.

Again I am really looking forward to some more listening this w/e when I expect to have time and space to do so and I should be able to give more educated impressions.
