Hi All
I am a recent retiree looking to set up a new stereo system in my new abode here in sunny Brisbane. I was an early adopter of computer audio and along with a friend (while I lived in Canberra) ripped our entire collection to MP3 at 160k. However we ran into problems that were eventually sorted out but found the easiest way to do it was to simply record what you wanted to listen to a Hi Fi MD player connected to your stereo. I know new devices like the squeezebox are available but experience has taught me stick to the tried and true so I am looking at getting an MD player and connecting it to the stereo. It would then be a simple matter of connecting the digital out on my sound card to the record in on the player. Since I plan for my new system to use the DEQX I really want one with a digital out. I know Sony has released a new MD format - Hi MD. Trouble is I can not find any Hi MD units made for Hi Fi systems with digital out - the only ones seem to be walkman type products. The new format looks great - each disk able to hold a truly amazing number of songs but no support looks available for Hi Fi units - they still only seem to be making them using the old format eg the sony MDSJB980S. Does anyone know of Hi MD Players using the new technology?
Thanks
Bill
