Audio Valve ?
« on: 25 Jul 2005, 09:46 pm »
I am wondering if anyone has heard of these amps ?  I got a chance to listen to their Avalon and I was impressed.  It was connected to the same makers preamp (all valves also) and some big speakers, so who knows ... but the sound was great.
I will soon listen to their bigger version, the Challenger.  They also seem reasonably priced.

tvyankee had a full-on Audio Valve system at his place for the Rave he hosted last summer.  Check here for comments and pictures:

a friend of mine in germany (where they are made), said the preamp is decent, the amps not as good.  take that for what it's worth.  i had asked him about it cuz there was a (retail $4k) eclipse preamp f/s on agon a while back for $1200...   audiojerry here on the forum had the eclipse preamp; you may wanna query him on what he thought of it.  i know he's on at least his second preamp after that one...  the gear is certainly beautiful.
