No more XRCD?

In the latest issue of The Absolute Sound, there's an article that reviews a handful of XRCDs. In the article, the author writes (paraphrased) "its a shame that they finally get it right just as they are shutting down". Is this true? Anyone else hear that XRCD is shutting down?

I see a number of new XRCDs being released....much like SACDs. Granted, they are released overseas (meaning they're not necessarily released here), but I don't see XRCD production ending anytime soon.

The problem with XRCD is that while it sounds great, it's very expensive, more than a DVD-A or SACD disc. And the high rez stereo tracks on SACD's and many DVD-A disks sound just as good as XRCD.
