I'm not in the market at this point as I expect more flux in my equipment over the next year, but those are some fine looking racks.

Thanks Eric!

I noticed the racks in several rooms at HE2005 and decided to research the products. The racks are fully custom sizes, colors, etc. For example a rack is being custom built now with 3” thick dark cherry shelves and 3” solid aluminum columns which are anodized in a burgundy plum color.

As you can see my racks and stands are black to match the Ebony HT3s and the rest of my décor. It is always good to know that you have options!

Once they arrive I will post some more pictures of the 2 racks and one amp stand.

Now that is a spike :!:

The spike below is 1 of 8 that are the base of the black custom isolation rack shown above. Overkill? Absolutely :D

In my palm to display the scale. My hand is not small. The spike is about 5lbs.

Next to a 16oz water glass for a reference:

No kidding.

I was shocked when I opened the box and removed the first one from the protective shipping tube. You don't see racks like this in your local store I can assure you of that.

Brad,

To my knowledge the racks have not been professionally reviewed but you will see a good number of manufactures using the products at Hi Fi shows.

Here are a few examples from HE2005. There where others but I did not take photos.

Wow, that is a gorgeous stand!  I'd probably put black cones on it instead of brass, but it looks impressive nonetheless.  Dare I ask what such a stand costs and the source?

This particular stand is a custom size 20"x 18" x 3" thick maple platform with brass isolation cones and finished with clear satin lacquer. The cost is $375

The manufacture is Ultrasonic Audio Racks and I am the dealer representing the brand. If you have any specific questions send me a PM or email.

Thank you!

Ah, ok.  I realized that you were the dealer for Ultrasonic, but I thought that a different vendor made the wood platform and then the Ultrasonic spikes were attached after finishing.

Thanks for the response, Bryan!

brj, I was thinking the same thing!  I would like to see a pricelist for this very nice line.

Personally I find reviews of racks and isolation platforms and similar devices rather pointless.  Whether there is any positive or negative impact from isolation, coupling, decoupling, etc depends on the individual component and the system it is in.  I've seen systems with components placed on massive racks filled with lead shot that Hercules couldn't budge.  Others have had racks with air suspension systems, where a child barely touching the assembly would result in it swaying back and forth for minutes.  If one of these approaches is right the other must be very wrong !

If I ever reach a point where my equipment is stable (questionable) the main thing I'll be shopping for in a rack is looks.   This "Ultrasonic" line, along with Rix and a few others, certainly rank highly in that regard.  The Townshend Seismic Sink stands are very cool looking too, although don't really fit into my decor.

As far as pricing is concerned there are so many options with custom racks and stands that it becomes very difficult to have a price sheet that is easy for a customer to interpret at a glance. I have a 2 page Excel spreadsheet to manage options :!:

I will try to work up some example racks and pricing for those that are interested. Until then just contact me for pricing.

Just to give you a basic idea:
Amp stands range in price from $175-$375
3-4 shelf Racks from $1000-$2500 depending on the diameter and number of columns, shelf spacing and shelf material (maple, cherry, acrylic)

Even the aluminum can be anodized to match decor. You cannot get more custom then this :D
