I was in Harvey's electronics yesterday drooling over the 61" plasmas and happened to notice a HT room setup with all lexicon gear including their $3500 UP.  Harvey's charges pretty much full retail for all their gear so I imagine street price might be a bit lower than their asking $3500. Didn't hear the sound but the picture up on a projector looked pretty remarkable.

I know MSB is soon to release one and McCormack has one coming too.  I am interested in the Mc one because their other gear seems to be pretty durn good.  Then again in the $3,000 mark one could pick up the $900 Yamaha UP and have Dan Wright work his magic.

So just how universal is a universal player?  It always seems like something is not covered in universal players.

I wonder if the Lexicon has a provision for a digital output of hi rez a la the Meridian.  Does it have an umbilical to hook up to the new MC8?

Rob,

I took a look at the back panel of the Lexicon and I noticed the MC analog outs, the component video outs, an AES/EBU out and something else that I couldn't tell you what it was (cause I have no clue).
