I'm using a G98DH as a transport, feeding a TacT RCS 2.2X.  It is everything a high end transport should be -- works perfectly, sounds great, big RAM buffers basically eliminates jitter, and it has hi-res output.  Tons of video features too -- Faroudja DCD, HDMI, switching, etc.  The system remote is awesome in both appearance and functionality.  And the transport itself is understated but very well made and attractive.  MUCH better than older Meridian gear I've seen.  It is about as far removed from the silly Shanling T300 as you can get.

Only potential negative is the lack of SACD playback, but I gave up on that format a while ago and sold my DCS stack.  The Meridian players and transports use a computer grade disc transport, which means it potentially could be upgradeable to BluRay, HD-DVD, etc.  No guarantee on that of course, but since it is a modular design it is feasible.

If a used black G68 ever shows up at a good price on the 'gon I'm all over it.

Eric...Thanks for the input.  I'm watching as well but would not have the resources to out bid you if it were an auction.   We have a dealer here in Bham but they are such A..H.... that I would go to Atlanta to buy rather than go in their business.  If you are not building a $100K room they have no time for you.  Whatever happened to going to a stereo shop for a demo of their equipment?  How times have changed!!

X,
Meridian forum is a good place to possibly find a decent dealer report and some G68 and addtl G98 feedback.

Their choice to use a computer rom drive and a buffer is a really smart one IMHO.
