Panasonic SAXR70s Preamplifier Output?

Does anyone know if the Panny has direct preamp outs like some of the higher end receivers (Yamaha comes to mind)?  Thank you!

No, it does not.

You cannot have a pure digital receiver with analog outputs somewhere along the signal chain. At least not at the price point the Panny is offered at.

what would be the point of having pre-outs on a digital amp.

Also, how would they go about doing it seeing as there are no unamplified analog signals in the chain

Not sure about this, but I believe the HK digital receivers have preouts.

HK amps use a different technology

I think the HK technology is not all digital like the TI Equibit Panasonic uses. See this site http://www.d2audio.com/default.aspx?c=7&t=Products&k=

It looks like the self-contained modules take an analog input. So the HK receivers are analog up until the point they enter the module. This makes it easy to use their current technology to generate a pre-out before going to the d2Audio amp module.

Hope this helps.

thank you for the information.  I wasn't sure if they had some way of doing this.

IMO the best thing about the Panasonics is the TI Equibit amplifiers; if you plan to take them out of the equation and use an external digital amp, you might want to get a processor instead and get Flying Mole monoblocs for each channel.
