Computer Set up

In the next couple of months I am transfering to a different school and will most likely not able to take my BB ft-1600mkII and Clari-T system

So I just put together a new computer and and looking into a simple and reasonably *cheap* (<$300) computer system.  Anyone have any ideas; I know Klipsch makes some stuff but I have no idea of its quality?

Please help!

In a sense, it's the same as buying any speakers.  There are quality computer speakers out there, including by Klipsch, but you might not like their particular sound.  You have to find the speakers YOU like best.

I would check out customer reviews on Amazon.com, as well as what PC Magazine has liked at www.pcmag.com.  Make a list of the main contenders.  Then see if you can go to some good computer stores, like CompUSA or Best Buy or whatever you have where you live.  Then listen to as many as you can.  If you find a brand you particularly like, chances are their other speakers will have a similar sound.

Perhaps the Clari-T can come with you, and you can try it with these...

What kind of space are you looking at?

If you can find a Sharp SD-EX111 it's pretty good as an amp-source and it has AUX inputs for a computer.  I'm using mine to power NHT SuperZero's.  I had to use a sub, but its a pretty decent computer system.  If you have more space you could go with larger NHT's, Axioms.  Its going to be a big change from your old setup though.

Actually it needs to be really small, which is why the BB speakers won't work so well, bahhh.

I will also be using the computer as a TV and just got a 24" LCD monitor, so I was looking at various computer systems and think the Logitech z-5500 might be good (I use the term loosely here).   I dont think I will even have room for the RAD speakers  :x

Im going to listen to the logitechs tonight at a local store so I shall see how much I will have to lower my standards..

Thanks for everyone's help thus far!
