hi
i am interested in putting together my own speakers or parts of it and want to use a digital x over like tact is offering it in their amps.

can anyone explain what difference the order makes .i hear of 1st order x overs  or 2nd order and have no idea what this means technically.

and also :there is a possibility to use different slopes.what does that mean?

any links to general info about x over also non digital are very welcome.

thanx

The only thing is that the orders have benefits and detriments.  I remember in my EE classes that high order crossover had detriments, but I can't remember exactly what they are.  (And, each design has benefits and detriments.)
