Bugle Burn?
« on: 14 Jun 2005, 03:34 am »
An earlier post suggested that a power supply greater than one amp may burn up the Bugle op amps.

I can't see why this would be so, but since I have such a supply that I thought I would try with the Bugle, thought I'd better ask the group.

Again, without a current drain, I can't see how the power supply would burn up the opamps.  Wouldn't they simply use what they need and leave the rest alone?

TIA.

Yes, if you plug the opamps in backwards.

That's what I get for relying on my memory and not checking the original thread!

Thanks for the reply.

BTW, the Bugle sounds just terrific right now.  Can't wait to build my stereo monogram, since the chassis I will use has full switching capabilities (left mono to both channels, right mono to both channels, l+r combined mono, and stereo), and hear how that sounds!
