Going from Mid-Fi to Hi-Fi, My Story.

Originally I used a Yamaha AVR in 5.1. I discovered I could elevate the sound output by using the dac output of a BCD-1 to avr dac. I also learned that I could elevate recordings using the same method, though it would take a few re-recording attempts to elevate the music output. I could even take a poor mp3 and elevate it to an high level of transparency, but there had to be an element of transparency to begin with.
Around 2010, I purchase a Bryston SP2 to replace my current avr. The Bryston bettered it but not enough to justify the price. Then I tried feeding my BDA-1 into the dac on the SP2. That is when my jaw hit the floor and I knew I had gone from Mid-Fi to Hi-Fi. It was so much better. I also then used my proven technic of re-recording songs with a dac feeding a dac. Again I was floored by what I was hearing. What was important about re-cording was to keep the meters from clipping thus smoothing out songs. (I believe this is why some audiophiles prefer vinyl as vinyl has to be recorded smoother than a CD or the needle will bounce out of the groove.)
Another thing I learned using a dac with a dac is that it could correct errors in a recording by re-recording. However that was the cd version that was my sample. On Amazon Music that album had no such flaws, so you know the public was never sold prestine CD recordings to begin with. :shake:
