Hello, I'm Tim a new member/user. I live in Murfreesboro Tennessee and am newly retired from UPS, I was in IT for 27 years. My wife and I just flipped 65 yrs of age, we like to spend the good months camping. We listen to 60's,70's,80's rock primarily I.E. Pink Floyd, CSN, Zepplin, Doors, Alan Parsons, Moody Blues, Doobie Brothers, America, Yes, Steely Dan, Robbie Robertson, etc. you get the idea.
I am hoping to discover and participate in some good audio related conversation I.E. equipment & listening.
I have recently sold off most of my system and are currently searching for a preamp and amplifier. I have held on to my Dual 701 and Cambridge CXN and the pair of Wharfedale Linton's I own. Not decided what I am looking for exactly but, currently I am warm on the current model Adcom GFA-565se power amplifier. I've owned Adcom equipment in the past and was happy with it. I'm finding some good reviews on their current model amps so maybe their current offering is of equal or better quality of past products. I could go with vintage if I have to but I would rather not have to do the re-cap and related work to bring it back up to specs.
For the pre-amp I looked at their new GFP-915se, it looks nice however some of the reviews I'm seeing rate it as being built cheaply and operational issues especially around the volume control. I am open to trying to locate a used GFP-750 however I am aware of the difficulty finding a GFP-750 in pristine un-molested condition and I would have to go through it first.
