Prices for good ones range from $300/pair (JBL 305 Mk2) for basic desktop/medium room filling sound, to $15,000/pair (Dutch & Dutch 8C) that provides stunning full range sound and room EQ with remote control.
Suggest using a streaming service for music (millions of albums available in CD or better quality and cheaper with no storage concerns).
My hearing is shot and moved into a smaller room, so am using a MacBook with Tidal streaming and noise cancelling wireless headphones.
