Hapa Audio at CAF presenting with Charney Audio.
« on: 12 Nov 2025, 07:30 pm »
Hello everyone! I’ve been busy and a lot of things going on. I apologize for the lack of posts recently.

I wanted everyone to know that Hapa Audio will be at CAF sharing a room with Charney Audio!

Come see us at room: 657

I’ll be debuting some brand new products! Alongside the venerable Charney Audio Lumaca VI speakers. If you’re at the show, I’d love to meet you and show you what we’re up to!

Hope it's a great success Jason and send some pics if you are able. Those Charney speakers look beautiful

They ARE beautiful. Sonic marvels. The soundstage they throw is so huge and natural. Imaging like you wouldn’t believe. And a true point source speaker with ZERO crossover parts yet capable of producing frequency response from 20Hz to 22kHz.

The Lumaca 6 with the Voxativ AC-2.6 drivers are what we are using this year. The bass these produce are the absolute most realistic and controlled bass I’ve ever heard.

If you’re at the show you owe it to yourself to stop by.  :thumb:

This show is a good size. Makes me feel like a tiny little ant. Which I am.

So just a bit about the Lumaca 6 speakers. This is the 6 foot version of Brian’s speakers. It’s a tractrix horn design and yes, the ENTIRE cabinet is one continuous horn from throat to opening. The speed of bass is literally beyond anything. Impactful, deep and percussive. and yet it’s all coming from a mere 8” Voxativ AC 2.6 driver.

104 dB from one watt and coherence that only a single driver full range is capable of. If you’re at the show, you owe it to yourself to hear this setup.  8)

Really happy to share this with you all. Ken Micallef with Stereophile Magazine just named the Charney Audio / Hapa Audio / HiFi Logic room Top 5 from CAF.

Check the article here.

Quote
The assembled system, including a funky Charney Audio sign, looked equally retro and space age—think a mad scientist's lab from a '50s movie. The sound was stellar…

speedy delivery to the full-bore bass and superbly transparent mids. The sound was natural, pure, and lifelike.

On Sting's "Practical Arrangement," the bass snapped into the room, taut and dense. Vocals projected a defined, physical center image. Other instruments were portrayed with serious weight, precisely placed on a cavernous soundstage that locked me in.

I’ll chat more about this system and my thoughts in the future. But suffice it to say, it was an honor as always showing with Brian Charney and Kobe with HiFi Logic.  8)

Hi Jason glad it all went well. Brian was very excited after the show and how well it went.
Yes the Lumaca is a special speaker. Everytime I go to his house I leave picking carpet fuzz out of my mouth, cause my jaw is planted firmly on the floor!!
Wish I could have made it down there to hang with y’all. Maybe next time…
