Hi, I am selling my beloved Pass X250 amp reluctantly. This is the best amp that I have owned. The reason that I am selling is that I am in my late 60's and I am down sizing my system to a high end Integrated amp for simplicity as my wife an I will be downsizing our house and I promised her that I would down size the system to an integrated amp with built in DAC and to bookshelf speakers from my Magnepan 1.6's.
This is the first gen of the X250 line. It replaced my Parasound A21 amp and it is better than the A21 by a wide margin. It is neutral sounding and very smooth sounding. Bass is thunderous yet controlled. It has excellent detail and good air and transparency. Treble is smooth and non fatiguing.
Price is $1600 plus the cost of shipping from 55125. It weighs 105lbs. I would be selling it for $2K but I realize shipping is expensive, so I knocked off $400 for the price. I am the second owner and have had it for at least 10 years. Before I bought it, it was sent in to Pass for a complete check up. It cost about $8k new.
I would rate the condition 8/10 due to age. The meter still works.
Specs- 250 wpc at 8 ohms, 500 at 4 ohms. It has balanced and single ended inputs. It runs in Class A for the first 10 to 15 wpc. I can't remember the exact rating at class A. The needle on the meter tells you when it is leaving class A and I have only seen it leave class A with heavy bass material at loud volumes with my Magnepans.
Pictures upon request. The price is firm, no low ball offers. This is a true audiophile amp. that has been well taken care of. I have a couple of friends that ended up buying Pass amps after hearing this amp.
