So I found these on Amazon and got them in today. They will work but the contacts are too exposed for comfort. I may have 600v on these.

Anyone know of a safer type?  I'm looking for the smaller ones that accept the pointy tips of multimeter leads, NOT the usual banana connectors (everywhere, it seems). Links are greatly appreciated, but if you could at least tell me what these connectors are actually called that would also be a big help.

Thanks!

These are only suitable for easy, convenient biasing purposes, when installing trim-pots that can be adjusted without opening an amp’s chassis, and are good enough for that.
Your test points for stuff like 600V HT are already there - on the valve-bases, transformer terminations, and rectifier board.
Leave them there.

Important.
We don’t say “probes” in the industry. It is “probe”.
Never, ever work with two hands inside (or outside) an amplifier, unless it is unplugged from the mains, and has had it’s capacitors grounded.
For a ‘live’ amp, clamp one test-point probe single-handed, then test-probe elsewhere at will, keeping the other hand and your body always well away from the amp’s chassis.

A simple Google search for “High Voltage Test Sockets” came up with this company.
You will, of course, need a high-voltage test-probe.

I assume this is what you are talking about?

Fu Manchu’s descendants will also gleefully sell you something that ‘looks’ similar, for $10 on eBay.
