I’m not entirely sure how effective this is yes, I can hear some differences. I remember when the TAD CR-1 was first released: my friend and I got a call from our dealer inviting us to come listen to these new speakers from TAD. He wasn’t trying to sell them to us he knew we couldn’t afford them but genuinely wanted our honest opinions. At the time, I am sure they cost around £43K.
We drove up one Saturday and spent the afternoon listening. They sounded incredible big and powerful. The dealer tends to play music louder than we usually do, but it still made a strong impression. One thing about the TADs: they can become a bit fatiguing when pushed really hard. But to be fair, you have to push them pretty aggressively before that happens. The TAD’s play big, but to be honest they are massive anyway.
Have you tried driving them hard? If so, what was your experience?
I know the CR-1s are excellent speakers, but listening through YouTube just can’t do them justice. I haven’t heard the other speakers you have, so I can’t comment on those.
