As busy as I am building new Volti Audio horn speakers, I still enjoy doing a Klipschorn restoration every once in a while.

Looks awesome!!

I know I'm not the only one who thinks this, but it seems the customer would save money and get a higher-quality product by purchasing a pair of Volti Vittora speakers, even with the cost of shipping to Spain.

Beautiful!

There is something special, almost magical about the old, big horn speakers (when properly driven) that still pulls me in.

Nice article. I have done vacuum bag veneering for over 20 years, it's always exciting and fun. Once I was doing a test run on an arched form and crushed the form like a coke can.

You bring up a good point, especially considering the condition of these beautiful speakers when I first opened up the crates.  (see pics in the article)

I really had to have a sit down in front of the speakers the first night the speakers were unpacked and the shop had quieted down.  It was too late to suggest new Volti speakers, but should I suggest that we sell these ones and get a much less valuable pair locally to do the complete restoration on?  One beer is all it took.  I realized that these were my customers speakers - probably prized possessions, and he's spending a lot of money and has entrusted me to turn them into something more beautiful and better sounding that he can enjoy for many more years.  It's an honor.  I think it would have been foolish of me to go with my first gut instinct, which had nothing to do with the emotion of the project or the sentimental value, but was strictly about money.

Yes, in a few weeks I'll have the beauty-shots up on the webpage.  I'm also planning to do a slideshow video for my YouTube channel, like the one that is up there now.

Oh man!  I once crushed a JBL L100.  That was an expensive lesson.
