A fellow posted on AA and said he found one that was made before 06/04 and bought it.  Was there a significant internal change that effected the sound?  Me puzzled.

The change effected the picture quality...they switched from a Toshiba chip to a Zoran chip. Not sure if they changed the audio dacs...

The did not change the Burr-Brown DAC...I've modded both the early and later date 3950s and 3960s, and they all use the same dac.
