New(ish) from South Carolina

Hi!
I’ve been lurking a while and want to start participating in more threads, so here I am!

I started building a new system about a year and a half ago after a lightning catastrophe wiped out my first good stereo setup around 2000. I’ve been without a good sound system since then. I’ve just about come full circle with the new gear and now working on tweaking a few things.

Current setup -
Magnepan LRS+
Prosper Cables cu/ag speaker wire
2x Mirage S8 subwoofers
Pro-Ject Amp Box DS2
Pro-Ject Power Box Amp DS2 (linear power supply)
Prosper Cables cu/ag interconnects
AES (Cary) AE3 Preamp

Phono -
Pro-Ject RM5.1 with Sumiko BP2 HO
Pro-Ject Connect It phono cable
Parks Audio Waxwing Phono Pre
ATT glass fiber optic to my digital front end

Digital -

Denafrips Gaia
i2s cable (Pangea, I think)
Denafrips Pontus II )
Prosper Cable cu/ag interconnects

Bluesound Node X
Prosper Cable cu/ag digital coax to Gaia
Shanling ET3 CD Transport
Nordost Odin USB Silver

I listen to a pretty broad mix. Lots of singer/songwriter acoustics, bluegrass, acoustic/classic jazz, symphony, some rock, some pop, and pretty much everything else except new gangsta rap and contemporary country.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

In the 1990/2000 I used buy country, blue grass classic CDs etc from Rounder Records, Traditional Crossroads and other labels, now Concord Music group owned.
