Check out the picture, 4th from the top. Newform Research is cooking up a new standmount speaker, and it looks very tasty indeed. It appears to feature dual 5.25" Scanspeak Revelator mid/woofers with a compact Newform ribbon on top. If they can sell it for around US$1000, it'll be killer.

As a side note, posing with the speaker in the photo is none other than John Otvös. His former company Waveform Audio produced one of the most awesome loudspeakers ever to come from Canada: the Mach 17, a 3-way, active-crossover, tri-amplified loudspeaker. It's most novel feature was a unique elliptical head unit, in which the tweeter and midrange was mounted, giving the speaker unusually broad dispersion. I only wish I could have got one before the company folded. Truly, an all-time great in Canadian audio.

Gotta admit, those look SWEET.  I would LOVE to hear a pair.  Anyone know what they'll be priced at?

They must have tried to increase the WAF by making it look like a bottle of nail polish!

Now that's funny.  Maybe we could get it painted in a gloss red to complete the illusion. . .

Note that Epos has switched to aluminum domes in their new models. This will surely vex all those audio types who sniff about metal domes because of "brightness" not realising it is all about implementation and design. Word is the new line is very nice sounding.
