Discontinued

So I see the Brutes are being discontinued.  Was it just not a good seller?  I want a pair but I wish there was a cheaper version.  Yeah I could save money by cutting my own cabinets but I’m not great at woodworking.

Looks like they're running out of 12" woofer for the Brute.

Is this the model with the Amp that was discontinued by Rythmik?

Correct, we're down to just a few woofers left, and want to save some as replacement for customers.

No, that was the largest "Beast" model that was going to use the HX800 amp with dual 12" subs per side that we never got to produce.

Hobbs, can you clarify the application impact of that amp not being available?  Does that mean double trouble subs can't be done?

The Bully and ALL CURRENTLY AVAILABLE subs kits are UNAFFECTED.
The A370PEQ amp is still in production.

The discontinued amp was the HX800, which can drive two 4ohm sealed woofers per amp, or up to 6 OB woofers per amp.

Thank you.  So if thinking of a single driver sub, best to pick the 8ohm or even 16ohm drivers (vs 4ohm) for future expansion possibilities.

We have a very small number of 8 ohm sealed woofers we could use, but not enough to make more than maybe 3 pairs.
We would need to have more made, which would mean a minimum of 400 units. but with some any other irons in the fire, it's not something on our radar.

So once those 8ohm are gone, the options would be to either have (1)-4ohm sub driver in a sealed box, or if you want "doubles / triples"... you have to go Open Baffle and must use the 16ohm sub drivers.  Is that correct?

Are there any plans for a Brute 2.0?  Different woofer?

Not at this point in time, but maybe in the Future

Not at this point in time, but maybe in the Future

An idea... more narrow baffle, affordable 8" driver from SB Acoustics that doesn't cost much, and plays deep.

It's the smaller Brute... The Buddy.

I own 2x of the 5" M130 woofers, have waveguide, NEOs, etc.  The driver in the picture is my 8" Duelund (Scan-Speak based).  I would own this speaker, and will pay for the enclosure / drivers.

I'll do the dirty work and spend some money, if you sketch it up.  I will have enclosures built, shipped to you, and you do the fun part.

In fact... I will send you a PAIR of them, so you can live with them for a while.

Then, sell them to people who can use a smaller speaker, don't want servo subs inside or outside their speaker, want to deal with less wood, etc.  Just a smaller, slimmer version... that can probably go on a fairly regular, short stand people may already own.

Smaller footprint, simple, and the Neo tweeter / waveguide twist.  Or even pair with T26.  It's a smaller package that still can play deep and doesn't need high pass filters / subs.

No strings attached... I just don't own any 3 ways speakers, yet.
