Hello, my name is Jim. I guess I'm the FNG.
My dad bought me a cheap GE component stereo for Christmas 1970. I was 12. It consisted of a receiver, separate turntable, and a pair of speakers. It was all plastic cabinetry. But sounded a lot better than my parent's console. Those little bookshelf speakers were my introduction to soundstage, a rather poor soundstage, but it was a start. By 1975 i acquired a pair of AR2ax speakers, an AR turntable with a Shure M91ED, and an AR integrated amp. The first record i played on that system was Queen's first album. I still have that vinyl. Kind of wish i still had that system.
