Setting up OB Subs
« on: 20 Feb 2025, 01:58 am »
I am getting everything together to set up my OB Subs.  If I am setting them up line level do I just need one set of RCA cables hooking them up audio out on the preamp and running one to the right and one to the left?   What cables are you guys using?

Yep, line level left goes to the left sub, line level right goes to the right sub.  I use Blue Jeans cables for my subs upstairs.

Tyson  what is a good length?   Should I expect to keep them close to the NX-Otica's.  Does the length make a difference on sound quality?

IME, short RCA cables matter between the preamp and your main amp.  But long RCA cables are perfectly fine for the subs.  I use a 3m pair for my Lineforces.

Agree with Tyson.  I use Blue Jeans LC-1 (LC-2 wasn't available yet).  Works fine, no need to hand-wring over this stuff.

For length, unless you know for sure the exact sub locations, I would recommend getting longer than what you think you need.  Gives flexibility for placement experimentation.  It's so cheap, doesn't pay to be caught short.  I got 20 ft lengths for my dual subs (in a large room), and glad I did.
