Convert high-quality wired speakers to Bluetooth streamers...CHEAP???

Hi, All. A couple of years ago, I built a very good pair of two-way towers with a friend. They have well-braced solid mahogany cabinets with high-quality joinery, high-end ScanSpeak and Morel drivers, and top-spec crossovers, and they sound really great.
But...I just scored a pair of preowned Von Schweikert Endeavor SEs, and there is no question that they are going to displace my old speakers in my main system.
But I have an irrational emotional connection with my mahogany towers (after all, my friend and I spent two weeks together hand-building them, and they're fine furniture as well as music sources), so I want to re-purpose them.
I think that the most likely re-use would be as a pair of standalone Bluetooth speakers where either my wife and I or one of our daughters could just place them in a couple of corners, plug them in to the wall, and send music to them from our phones. I'd like the option for them to function as either a stereo pair or as individual mono speakers combining left and right channels into a single speaker output.
I think I'd need at least 25 watts of amplification (each) for them to be happy.
Has anyone done anything like this, and can you recommend any Cheap and Cheerful components? Thanks!

Consider the WiiM Amp Pro.

Are you thinking of going from passive to powered (not active) speakers?  Going from passive to active is not a DIY endeavor.  Going powered (one channel of amplification per multiple drivers) is simpler but less precise with less bass extension than active.  Going powered means matching the cabinet design (sealed, ported, etc.) with the woofer.  Seems like you may be more interested in cabinet aesthetics than sound.

You're right...I'm looking at powered. While I want a quality audio outcome, they'll end up as "lifestyle" speakers rather than a sit-down-and-listen-seriously installation.

You may want to check with Vera-Fi Audio to see if their little Bluetooth amps will be back in stock at some point. A pretty decent buy at $199.

Just an idea.
