Tube amp technician in Los Angeles, California
« on: 26 Jan 2025, 08:22 pm »
Hi All,

I need the contact info for a great tube amp technician in the Los Angeles area.  I have a pair of George Wright AU-30 monoblocks that have overheating power transformers.

George Wright died tragically during a minor operation, and the circuit diagrams of his amps were never shared.

So I am hoping to find someone that can diagnose an amp with no circuit diagram, and maybe even produce a diagram.

Thanks all!

It's perfectly normal for power transformers to get pretty warm, if not hot. MUCH warmer than the output transformers by comparison. Have you moved them to a location with less ventilation or swapped out tubes lately? As far as tube amp repair, Google is your friend unless someone here familiar with the L.A. area has a suggestion.

i've good experience with andy found him on ebay.  he's korean with limited english and can't guarantee he can work without schematic but he did fix my amp flawlessly with a partial schematic found online.  he's in anaheim.
