New Q & A interview with Jay's Audio Lab

Jay gave me a really good interview discussing what I did with the Wilson Watt Puppy 8's.

You can see the interview here:  https://youtu.be/_i8MKBaZ8TQ?si=LZUjqlZ1mfWYd_C6

Part two will be out in a few days.

Check it out and give him some likes. He asked some really good questions.

If you want to see the upgrade videos that I shot on this one them check them out on my YouTube channel.

I have watched some of Jay's YouTube video's and they are interesting but most of the equipment he talks about is well above my pay grade.  Danny's speakers are within reach.  I would love to compare some of Dannys speakers to some of the speakers Jay likes to see what he thinks.

Yep. My takeaway from Part 1 is those guys who spend ridiculous amounts of money on audio gear aren't necessarily buying superior sound, and they don't know it. I'm guessing Jay is learning a lot from Danny and it could sway his lavish buying behavior.

I did watch both Jay’s and Danny’s video’s I look forward to the follow ups.

In general I don’t watch Jay’s video’s as I find the guy very wishy washy, he does not keep anything for more than 5 minutes and every new stuff he brings in is the best thing ever. So personally, nothing to be learnt from him. But Danny being on there should be interesting, as Danny actually knows what he is talking about.

Agree 100%.
Not a fan of Jay.  Mainly his style.   He bloviates too much, and IMO provides very little info of value.  Get to the point already!

On top of this, he's a bling whore.

Don't own any of his products, but been watching Danny for years.   Huge respect for him and his approach.  Asset to the community.   :thumb:

I have gotten to know Jay a little bit and he is a great guy. He just deals in the top levels of the market. There is nothing wrong with that.

I was actually impressed - he is clearly a Wilson guy but he didn't get defensive or aggressive during the interview.  Seemed like he was open to facts, when presented with them.

He was actually very unbiased about it all and just eager to learn. He also asked all the right questions.

Part two will launch tomorrow, and that part was really good as well.

Any intelligent person that has an open mind, will change their mind when evidence is presented that makes sense even if it goes against what they believe. Anyone that does not changed their minds when clear facts are presented but sticks to their wrong believes / facts is an idiot.

I occasionally watch Jay's videos. I like that he doesn't look like the audiophile/'enthusiast' stereotype and could probably bench press those Wilsons. I'm not sure what bling he flashes. He's usually dressed casual. I mean he's in South Florida, right? Come on.

Hey Danny,

I love these kind of back and forth conversation. Very good learning moment for alot of enthusiasts, it is technical at the same time very easy to understand. I have no gripe with people dealing with ultra high end equipment, there is definitely a market for them. I hope Jay visits th HQ in the future, more colabs are welcome too. Great job.

I meant audio gear bling.

My gripe with ultra-high-end audio equipment manufacturers is not giving the consumer what they're paying for. For super-expensive speakers, one should expect the crossovers to be designed correctly and with high-quality parts. That's like buying a Rolls Royce with a standard engine.

I just want to say that the equipment you guys are building and posting on here looks awesome and I bet competes and/or exceeds the high end market stuff.

There was a day when I would have agreed with you. I've come to conclude that the human condition is far more nuanced and that our IQ's have very little to do with what we believe. We humans have very little control over what we believe. One book that shines a very bright light on our beliefs and how we acquire them is-"How Minds Change," by David McRaney. Some of the smartest people on the planet hold weird and non sensical beliefs. Just presenting people with facts is a very inefficient method of changing what people believe.

In your whole life have you ever changed one of your beliefs?
