New to hifi saying hi

Hello all,
I recently had the good fortune of inheriting not one but two Dynaco PAS 3 preamps.  One is in perfect working condition, all original (except for the selenium rectifier which I replaced with a diode/cap setup from dynakitparts), and the other became my project:  I completely rebuilt it using new PCB's and pretty nice components, and while I probably did a bunch of newbie dumb things, I had a blast and it sounds pretty damn good!  It was so nice having the original PAS right next to me for reference.

Anyway, this all led me down the hifi rabbit hole and now I'm on my 5th tube amp build; an ST-70 using Van Alstine's Super 70 driver board.  I also have a couple of old Magnavox CD decks I'm planning to tweak soon.  Its a lot of fun and I'm hoping to find useful information for all these projects here.

Good job SlabH - upgrading older tube gear is such a rewarding endeavor is so many ways. Pay attention to all the details, use the best quality replacement parts that you feel may worth the expense and always double check your re-wiring job before powering up. Use a magnifying glass to inspect all solder joints too! The PAS preamp has been a real workhorse for upgraders a couple of generations now, so good for you! Welcome to the Circle & happy listening!
