My personal opinion are buy hi sensitivity speakers as 100dB to use a inexpensive small tube amp, dont walk run from speakers under 96dB.

I have two set of speakers that are close to 100db sensitivity at 1 watt/meter (Klipsch KG 4.2 (95db) and Legacy Prodege (98db)).  I like the Prodege speakers better.  I don't have a tube amp, but I do have 6SN7 base pre amp Schiit Freya (not plus) that does magic to the sound when the tube decide to be quite during the low level passages.
