JVC RX-F10- Phantom Center?
« on: 17 May 2005, 11:58 pm »
For those who have one or who might know...Can you generate a phantom center channel for DD or DTS? I haven't been able to figure out if you can thus far with mine.  I tried simply setting the center channel to "no" on the options, figuring this would eliminate the signal and spread it to my two mains, but this didn't seem to work as it sounded like I was only getting front channel effects instead of the dialogue from the center.  Maybe this unit doesn't have that capability?  Will the newer JVC units have it?  Any ideas appreciated...

I can get a phantom center with my 626r's by just selecting none for the center. It's pretty easy.

I tried that....but for anything using my DVD Multi (DVD movies, etc) it sounds like the center channel is missing altogether, along with the information it contains instead of it being spread to the Mains.  Works for TV though...hmmm

Try the coax for movies. I don't think you do a phantom with the multi-ins since it bypasses the F10's internal decoding.

If you're using multi-channel in, you have to set the center to "none" on your dvd player, not the JVC.
