Just thought I'd let anyone around here know that R-Factor in Woodinville carries unfaced 703 in 2" thickness as a stock item. They can also order other thicknesses as well as 705. They don't normally carry 705. Not sure what other thicknesses of 703 they might have.

Unfortunately you do have to buy it by the bundle from them. And for 2" 703 that means 12 sheets of 2' x 4'.

You also don't have to be a contractor. You can just walk right in & purchase whatever you need from them.

Yeah I'd just been over there yesterday to pick up 24 sheets of 703. That's when I found out that you could just stop in and buy whatever you needed.

That is pretty cool.  The lumber yard on the other side of the block from me will order an equivalent rigid fiberglass for me too but I haven't gotten around to ordering yet as my projects aren't complete.  Frank I know wanted some but decided another path, probably because I dragged and didn't get back to him.

I like it when these guys will deal with you even if you aren't a contractor. I was going to get my neighbor to order it if they were dicks, b/c he is a contractor.  Actually I think I have 3 of them on the block where I live.

I'd stopped by to pick up the order from will call as it'd been ordered through Dunn Lumber. So I'd guess it'd be a slight bit cheaper to just stop in and buy it straight through them rather than buy it through one of their customers.

Tried finding out what the 2" 703 would cost straight from them, but they wouldn't say at that moment as the order was placed through someone else.

So yeah, it's nice to know that I don't have to go through someone to get stuff there. Was also nice to find out that I could walk into a few of the electrical & electronics shops w/out being a contractor.

I'm really getting to know where to pick things up in Seattle now....

I have boxes of the OC703 equiv. which I'm willing to ship.   They would cost $85 each and they have six of the 2" faced 2'x4' panels.

We also build them custom if you want the work done.

They don't seem to have a web site that I can find. Not sure if they ship either.

But their # is (425) 488-7600

How much were they charging for the 703 through Dunn Lumber?  I asked about getting rigid fiberglass sheets at Dunn a few months back and they said they don't carry them and referred me to a place just off route 99 and 212th SW in Lynnwood (don't recall the name at the moment and haven't had a chance to go there).  Could you order smaller quantities through Dunn or did they have the bundle minimum as well?

Thanks,
Tim

I think it was $145 for the bundle buying it through Dunn. Yes, Dunn doesn't carry 703. They did a P.O. at R-Factor for it, and we just went & picked it up after we'd paid Dunn for it.

You had to buy whole bundles through Dunn since they don't normally stock it, and it's not even in their computer system.

Sounds like you & gongos might want to split a bundle. He needs 1/2-3/4 of a bundle. Looks like I need another full bundle, so I'm no help to him.

Just called up R-Factor, and they want $120 for a bundle of 2" 703. A little better price than what Dunn was charging...

Thanks for the info, much appreciated!  Looks like it may finally be time to get my DIY panel project underway.

Most welcome.

They've been great to deal with at R-Factor. Just came back from picking up another bundle of 2" 703.

I suppose the only minor compalint one could have is that you can only buy 703/705 in full bundles (12 sheets of 2" 703 or 5 sheets of 2" 705). But as they're mainly a wholesale dealer, it doesn't much make sense for them to sell stuff in such small quantities.
