A while back I decided to sell off some surplus stereo gear (horrors!) so I plugged everything in to make sure everything still worked right.
Magnepan MMG speakers, Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 preamp, Conrad-johnson MF-2275 amplifier, Kimber Kable 8TC speaker cables, Rega Apollo-R CD player.
After 2 days of listening, I cancelled the ads.
This old crud still has it.

Hey!

Yup, newer doesn't mean better. There are some older/vintage stuffs that still compete well with new stuff available today. Sound like a good system ensemble of vintage gears you've got there.

My Welborne Labs SET amp monoblocks turned 25 years old this month and I still love them after all these years. Oldies but still goodies.

I had the same experience today - pulled out my TAL Korneff Type 45 SET amp from my storage area after 2 years and man it sounds good on the new speakers!  Glad I kept it, even though it's only 1.5 watts.
