No-Rez expiration date?
« on: 8 Dec 2024, 05:02 pm »

I bought the upgrades roughly 5+ years ago to upgrade my AV123 X-LS speakers and after dealing with depression and other life issues, I found a friend willing to help me upgrade my speakers.

I got No-Rez and its been sitting in a box for the whole time and wanted to know, does it change or lose its ability to stick to the inside of the cabinet?? Also is it worth tossing it and buying the new version?

Thanks

You could verify the glue current situation, if bad you could add a new glue layer IMO.

You can still add some poly fill back in for fine tuning.

I'm an amateur with speakers... what does the poly change?  And is it a huge difference between using it and not using it?

It slows down the flow of air in the box and makes the box act as if it a larger. So fine tuning...

Is there a specific brand or type of plot fill you recommend?

I like the brown car wood blanket 15mm.
The 5mm dont works, both are inexpensive.
It increase the bass under 250Hz and decrease the treble.
Danny do you could test it and inform us your opinion ?

The blanket is too thick, IME.  You really want something way more fluffy.

The image above show the 5mm that is thin, but it dont up the bass.

Fiberglass insulation is at any hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot. You can even find a spare handful of it pretty easily in your attic.

It is only sold in large rolls. You won't need much, some just use a little polyfill. You can get polyfill just about anywhere too.
