I live in Newtown, CT and work in Hartford, CT.  I have a Dodd tube-based, battery powered preamp. I believe I'm the second owner. I used it for a while at my previous house (moved in 2013), and it's been in the box since then. Still have the original box.  I'm sure the batteries are bad; you'd have to get new ones. Not sure about the tubes or anything else.

I'll give to someone if they can meet me not too far from my house.  Will not mail or send.

This is similar to mine:  https://6moons.com/audioreviews/dodd/dodd.html

Reply here, because I don't check messages.

I can be there tomorrow. If I get confirmation tonight as I'd have a 10 hour drive round trip.

Hey -- cool that you're giving it away - good on ya'.

I've been looking for a good tube preamp like this. I'm up in Syracuse. If those who posted before me don't take it, I'd be willing to take a drive.

Hi CT V,

I'm still very interested in the preamp. Unfortunately, I am on jury duty this week, so I won't be able to pick it up until next weekend.

I used to own one of these. It's fairly high on the list of components I wish I'd never sold. Congrats to the new owner!

Sorry, I made the mistake of thinking I could do this.  I thought, "How hard can it be to randomly choose someone and then meet somewhere?"  It's more time than I have right not.

My daughter was diagnosed with PANS, pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome.  This manifests itself as psychiatric symptoms due to an underlying bacterial or other infection.  In her case, it's lyme and bartonella. She tried to kill herself by taking medication, and then spent 3 weeks between the emergency room and the psychiatric hospital. She's currently required to attend an intensive therapy session daily M-F.

We thought she was getting better, but she's regressed.  These PANS people have eating problems, where they typically don't eat.  They refer to it as anorexia, but it's that to the extent that they don't eat.  However, my daughter has developed an actual case of anorexia and is hiding food and throwing it away, weighing food, exercising a ton.

The main doctor for the PANS believes he can cure her. However, her body is attacking itself right now, and causing all kinds of symptoms. There are two parts of PANS: brain inflammation; and autoimmunity.  Her autoimmunity is so high right now, he's recommending ivig, which is where you get antibodies to help the immune system. Of course, to get ivig, you have to go through many tests because the insurance won't give it for PANS.

To add to this, I am finishing drywall in an area where my desk is (I work from home an my partially finished wall looks terrible).  This is a relatively small area, but has taken way longer than I thought.

There are so many things I cannot do: I can't figure out how to block Tumblr, where my daughter is posting how thin she'll be soon; I can't figure out what's going on with my TV system, where I keep having to reboot it and the channel numbers are incorrect; I bought air filters to put our house and her room because anything that causes inflammation is bad for my daughter, and I don't have time to figure out how to program them.  I could list another 50 things I'd like to do but don't have time to do.

And as I type this, my daughter is screaming -- and I mean SCREAMING -- about how she wants to die and doesn't want to take the drugs we believe will help her.

I don't have time even to give this away.  Sorry.

Sorry to hear this.  Prayers for your family.  Focus on what needs to get done.
