New Member Introduction
« on: 1 Nov 2024, 08:01 pm »
Hi All!

New member from VA here. Found out about ya'll while reading about James Bongiorno (SAE/GAS/SUMO) and Brian Cheney (VMPS), both of which I have focused my audio collecting sights on thanks to the acquisition of a GAS Son of Ampzilla from Brett Mullins (RIP '22).

As someone who has always been a fan of headphones, making the leap to HiFi speaker audio (coincidentally timed with a promotion) has been a wonderful experience.

Currently my setup is as follows:
Source - Sonographe SG-33 w/Grado red
Pre - SUMO Electra
Power - GAS Son Of Ampzilla
Speakers - B&W 805S

Looking forward to browsing through the archives and chatting with ya'll!

Just switched back to headphones after nearly 50 years with in-room speakers due to new tiny room, difficulties with wireless setup, and use of hearing aids.  Sold a DVD player to Big Brian years ago, loved his RM30 speakers but never bought them. Never cared for B&W speakers.

What is your headphone stack looking like? My headphone journey has been one primarily of sennheisers and tube amps.

There are some RM40s nearby I plan to audition later this month, very excited to finally listen to them. As for the B&W's, they aren't my favorite, but were a gift/hand-me-down. They can be a little fatiguing for long sessions.

I had Seinheisers 414 with a McIntosh 6100 integrated, then went in-room for the next 50 years.

My current headphone "stack" consist of a MacBook M2 playing Tidal and Apple Maxx wireless/noise cancelling headphones.  No need for power conditioners, room treatments, etc.
