Forgive me, I'm not even sure I'm asking the right questions. I'm new to "streamers". My main use would be to 1) digitize some LPs so I can listen on other systems, 2) record the digital output from a streamer.
What I'm looking for is standalone device that at a minimum
- can take analog and digital audio in,
- save the input as a digital file,
- provide a way to get that file to a NAS or streamer that has a hard drive. That could be removable media (usb, SD card, cf card) or by direct connection to a network
My searches come up with 2 solutions: a audio mixer boards meant for music production or a Marantz PMD-580.
The pmd-580 looks like it does this and more, but it must be an older product since it uses compact flash cards. Makes me suspect that it may not be up to todays standards. It's available used on ebay for a small price.
Are there other options?
