Yep another newbie and have been using audio concepts sapphire clones since the early 90,s and what’s amazing is how
the focal rubber is still pliable after all these and they still sound incredible after all these years
I do coat them once every year with armor all and it’s worked out well so far…
Read the review in the audio critic back then and went ahead and bought matched
focal drivers and made a Wilson watt type
of design with stands and these produce a very transparent soundstage that images better than my scintillas and quad 988,s
Those speakers do some things better but not a similiar tight image illusion although very good still.,
Something about minimal baffles and small enclosures that will never be matched in the imaging department
With subs of course
I currently have these setup in my home theater along with another center channel design based on the sappire
It uses the focal Kevlar twt instead of the titanium focal versions of the left/rt stereo pair
