The classic LFD "starter" amp that so many people regret selling.... I might regret it too. But I have too many amps, and I'm also trying to sell another one (see my listings) so it's a bake-off. One amp has to go.

I'm the original owner, Purchased the amp in 2022 from Gene Rubin. Please note that this is the Mistral "Plus" version built exclusively for Gene Rubin with an upgraded phono circuit; see the description below provided by Gene Rubin:

"Gene Rubin Audio "PLUS" version Mistral. I am paying the extra money to have a seriously upgraded phono stage built into the units that I receive from LFD. My exclusive "PLUS" version uses the same circuit as the LFD Phono LE and powers from additional windings off the main transformer. In the standard Mistral 2018, the phono circuit is a simple op-amp with small transformer. I figure since most of my customers are playing LP’s, some extra investment in a superb phono stage is what you guys would want. Again, the Mistral PLUS version is only available at Gene Rubin Audio!"

From Richard Bews: "The Power amplifier section is 50w/channel using bipolar technology, output protection using a chip that powers a relay, so NO fuses required. Theoretically, there should be thermal limiting, if the chassis/output devices gets too hot. The PSU is oversized for better sound quality, but the output is limited to voltage rails of +/- 35V so power output is limited, it cannot be increased. It sounds powerful for the 50W rating, but technically the limited power, does not limit the sound quality (quite similar to LE(V)). The Mistral is essentially a LE(V) with a bipolar 50W/channel power amplifier section. The Mistral is the NEW entry level LFD amplifier."

$2200, Paypal ok, shipping extra.... I have original box, etc.

Seems like it’s harder and harder to sell second hand audio these days. 5 years ago I could buy and sell things quite quickly. It makes it difficult to try things out if you can’t resell them at a loss.

In any event this amp is awesome. Ready to pickup or ship. Good price.

Thanks for looking.

Buyer backed out…

It's always easier to sell gear when you have pictures included in your ad.  BTW- When did the audio hobby become any different than any other hobby?  If you're into boats, do you expect to get what you paid for the boat after enjoying it for some time when it's time to sell? A financial loss is part of the hobby, unless you buy used and can buy for 50% off or more. Also, the economy has sucked for the past 4 years as many people have lost jobs which makes the market much softer than before.  You might also take into account that a basic integrated amp with no remote volume control isn't at the top of everyone's list.
