Have to reset Bryston DB after every reboot on BDA-3.14

Upgraded from a BDP-2 to a BDA-3.14 a couple of weeks ago.  Took the 4TB SSD internal drive from the BDP-2 and put it in an external case to attach with USB to the 3.14.  Everything worked fine for a short time, but now every time I reboot I have to reset the Bryston DB for anything to show up in the Artist View.  I can access the files just fine through SMB or in the default view in Manic Moose, but nothing in the Artist view.  Things I've tried:

Factory reset
Clear MPD cache
Clear Bryston DB cache
Static IP and DHCP reservation
Some other things I'm sure I haven't mentioned.

Anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure the BDA-3.14 has enough power for a 4 TB SSD? Does the SSD have it's own power adapter or is it powered by the BDA-3.14?

My BDA-3.14 worked without flaws with both an 1 TB HD and an 1 TB SSD, but had serious problems with a 2 TB SSD.

Yep - the drive is an external SATA case that has its own 12V 2A power.

I’m currently running a similar configuration andit works but..

I cannot use artist, genre or album search functions and it seems very limited in capacity for ‘favorites’ etc.. I suppose this is the difference between an all-in-one device and a specialized digital player, but I’m only guessing here.

It can deal with the externally powered harddrive thoiugh.

Just a thought but have you tried the upper left "update" button (in the Update  Clear  Consume  /  Eject list)?
