A370PEQ - Plate Amp Not Amplifying
« on: 29 Aug 2024, 10:49 pm »

Setup: 2 x X-MTM Encore Kit 2 x A370PEQ  Each set as pairing of mid/low  R/L
Odd thing started happening.  When I turn system on and play music the one A370PEQ , though it has power, is not playing.  I can see its sister A370PEQ  playing fine. Obvious motion of cone but nothing at all on the right A370PEQ .  I limit down to just the one A370PEQ  having issues and when I power off (toggle switch) and back on, small "pop" sound and slight cone movement. But play music and nothing..  Turn gain all the way up / down etc.. no change.  Switch RCA input from Left A370PEQ  and nothing.  But use right A370PEQ  RCA cable to left and plays (aka: not input from RCA as both working).  Unplug power cord and back in.. same.. small pop but nothing.  Then a few minutes later.. it wakes up and starts playing.

I have had this now happen about five times.  Tried to build baseline but not sure yet.  I tried to leave it on for an hour before test (aka warm it up) and no change.  It sometimes joins in after first three or so songs... or maybe after two.. or.. never even after 30 min of playing.  My first guess was / is an issue with toggle to "auto" power mode.. where if input level too low it does not switch to "on".  So I made sure it had plenty of input... no change.

Not a huge baseline. Just started happening a week back.  But wondering if others seen this or have ideas.

Early B.

Yes, the OP needs to contact Brian at Rythmik Audio.

Sounds like either the off-auto-on switch is having problems or the start circuit.
