AURALiC LEO GX Master Clock

Original owner, purchased in 2018. Has been well cared for and is in "very good" cosmetic condition. There are minor signs of wear. Mostly a small mark by a rear connector from tightening the clock cable and marks on the bottom from the rubber tops of ISOAcoustic OREA isolation feet. (The OREAs are not included.) The photos show these. I had an issue with my VEGA G2 and both the VEGA and LEO were sent to AURALiC for diagnosis and service. It turned out the LEO checked out fine did not need any service but was used in troubleshooting the VEGA.

The LEO GX is compatible with the VEGA G2 and G2.1.

Included is everything original: the LEO GX, upgraded clock cable along with the original cable, the upgrade cable for the VEGA internal connection (not yet in photos), Lighning Link cable, power cable, wrench for connecting the clock cable, user guide, even the white gloves! It will ship in the original factory packaging - double boxed.

The LEO is currently unavailable to buy directly. It is by special order only with a long lead time. List price is now $10,899. Interested in your LEO, what did you use it with A Vega G2? Did you sell the Vega? How did the sound change before and after placing the Leo in?

Hello Ralph,

Yes, it was the VEGA G2.  I upgraded to the VEGA G2.2 and am justifying the cost by selling the LEO as well as doing some simplification of my system as we downsize in retirement.

The difference is noticeable.  There hasn't been much recent discussion, but there has been great praise for the addition in the past.  Here's the biggest thread:

I do understand the need to downsize.

I did read all the input from this forum and kind of confirms the leo is a good thing.

Looks like Amir is the only one who thinks it offers nothing to the sound!

Do you know what version you have? I am assuming your version of the Leo needs updating to work with your 2.2?

It's the LEO GX and works with the G2 and G2.1.  Auralic will do a modification to make it the same as a GX.1 and compatible with the G2.2 if needed.

I am not a big fan of Amir reviews but like anything there is some truth to what he does.
As far as the Leo improving the sound I believe it does hence I would not be bothering you with questions.

Summing up from what I know and suspect:

Technology marches on and i believe the New Vega g2.2 is probably just alittle better than the Leo Vega 2.0 combo that you owned.

I did own a Vega and stupidly traded it in on a Lumin. which I did not like as much and immediately sold it. Now I have nothing and
will need to find a used Vega to go along with the Leo or find a one box solution and call it aday!

I have a budget around 6k and used Vegas are around 2.5k leaving around 3.5k for your leo. Is that price anything you would consider?

I wish I could say whether the G2.2 is better than the G2 + LEO.  I was startled by the improvement with the G2.2.  But then Auralic modified the file system and reports are that the G2 and 2.1 received dramatic improvements.  So it is hard to say how much of the G2.2 improvement is from the file system change that the others now have.

Really don't thing Auralic would update firmware to make the older models sound as good or better than the new model they
want or need to sell. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, caught up with you on private message.

I also said there that G2 or G2.1 plus the LEO might be on par with the G2.2 alone.  Just a guess.  The G2.2 plus LEO, well, I don't want to think about it or I might end up keeping the LEO!!
