I’m not certain if there is any interest in this but I thought a few of the old timers might get a kick out of it.  Some may recall Danny’s original V1 that started off as the Venue. I built out a pair of the V1s in the 2010(?) timeframe. While completing the speakers I started a build thread where many noted the resemblance of the completed speaker to a penguin.

I gave the V1s to my son after I finished the NX Otica MTMs, (there was a Wedgie build in there as well), he has been running with the V1s since.

He was married June 1st this year, as a surprise I decided to rebuild his V1s into a more modern design. We had discussed the possibility some time ago so I had an idea of what they might like.  They love the V1s sound, so my goal was to reuse the V1 components and complete the rebuild while they were on their honeymoon. I only missed the mark by 5 weeks  :duh:.

Part of what took so long is that after I got the speakers home I took a look at the cabinets, they were still solid so I decided to reuse as much as I could, a green build.  Starting from scratch would have been quicker but this gave me the opportunity to try something I have been wanting to try in conjunction with a speaker build, epoxy.

Here are a few pics.

Thanks guys, they seem to like them.  I asked my son what these look like suggesting something cool like eclipse, he said “lower case i’s”.  Hahaha.

Fantastic update Ed!

It is great to observe the talent of people such as yourself who excel at creativity, which unfortunately is not my forte.
