Introduction

I'm Al and old audiophile - literly not figuratively. I was involved with local local folk music group which played  for rent .One worked part time at  an early hifi shop - one of the best in town. Got invited down to listen in the audition room and have not been the same since. I had  the good fortune to be at the shop later when a gentleman came in to trade in his pair of MC30s for the newly released MC275 which I jumped on at the advice of my friend - this was about 1965/7. I kept them forever (because they were among the best sounding thing I could afford for a while and never any problems - mine only really restricted to degrading tubes -which were gladly replaced  by McIntosh at their wonderful  traveling come-one-come all tech checks during which they would re-tube my MC30s for free being being amused their seeing these already vintage amps. There were a lot of solid state stuff moving through the my house as well later until my friend Wes Phillips Wes Phillips introduced me to Music Reference and Roger Modjeski  (may both R.I.P.) .I have never recovered from that either and which is why I will look forward to accessing the tube oriented environment.
