RCA input shorting plugs... for FET valve pre-amp
« on: 11 Jun 2024, 10:14 pm »
Does anyone use RCA shorting plugs on their pre-amp inputs or anywhere else?  Is this a bad idea for these components or do they help with EMI?
I've seen them used mostly on vintage equipment on the phono inputs but notice I dont see these so much any more.
Are they still used these days?  I have the AVA FET Valve Pre-amp

Thanks for any input!

Are you having EMI issues or just general audiophile nervosa?

Neither just curious.  Anything else to contribute?

It is ok to use shorting rca plugs on unused inputs, but not on the tape or line level outputs.

I doubt if they will make much difference.

Thanks Frank. I'm not having any issues, just curious as some folks were talking about this recently.
