I used to have a pair of X-CS and really loved them.  They had a big, warm sound with surprisingly deep bass partly due to the sealed cabinets.  I sometimes regret selling them.

Overall, they will be very similar. They both use the same tweeter, and the Bravo uses the same 5.25" woofers as the Bully.
You might get a little lower bass extension from the larger Encore woofers (~5Hz) but placement (room gain) will dictate that more than drivers will.
they both still very lightweight paper cone woofers with a similar suspension and X-max.
in terms of the crossover, the Bully is more similar to the X-CS Encore, with the current network using 2nd order slopes on both drivers. The X-CS Bravo is 3rd order on the tweeter and 2nd on the woofer. (which is what older X-CS Encores had)

You can see the updated measurements of the X-CS Encore on the X-MTM page, as that will be the most analogous to using the X-CS Encore in a vertical orientation, though impedance will be a little different since it's sealed rather than ported.

Thank you for answering that. So if we break it down just between a 2.1 X-CS Bravo system and a 2.1 X-CS Encore system, it sounds like you're saying it would be hard to tell the difference.

I have X-SLS in my living room.  With upgraded crossovers and No Rez and using them daily they have thoroughly earned their place in my home.  They have their limits being a 2-way but I’ve never needed to push them that far.  Last year I was driving them with a 10w/ch Schiit Gjallerhorn and never felt like it wasn’t enough.  I’ve since replaced it with Schiit’s now discontinued Ragnarok integrated amp which gives more power and that clean, dynamic Schiit sound.

I have a home theater set up on one side of my basement using X-Statiks and an X-Voce center channel up front and a pair of X-Omnis in the rear.  5 channels like this plus a Sealed Servo Sub equals jaw-dropping performance.

My main listening rig has the rare, discontinued Super 7 full range open baffle speakers.  Best speakers I’ve ever owned!  High end performance at a fraction of the retail price.

Since I found Danny, I’ve pretty much stopped shopping for speakers and have been able to optimize the rest of my rigs.  His designs are just better than most of what’s out there for the same money. 

Nevertheless, I kind of want to build a pair of Brutes just because I like the way they look.

Very nice. I admire all your different listening arrangements. How's that sealed servo sub for HT? I wonder how it would compare to something like a ported svs sub.

It’s a beast!  It can easily rattle walls if needed.  I hear two is even better!

I made that mistake, once.  I had a pair of SVS SB16-Ultra - their best sealed subs.  The output is huge... and muddled (compared to servo sub bass). 

Right now I have a pair of Rythmik F8 sealed subs - which are dual 8" servo subs in a small, sealed box.  They are far superior to the SVS subs I had, far more musical.  I have a very large room (e.g., 30+' x 30+') and the output isn't enough for "full tilt", but fine for 99.9% of the time I listen.  That's OK too... I didn't buy them for high output. Even though they are dual-8" drivers, I never feel like they don't play "low enough".  For me, they'd be more than enough for HT.

I have a very large pair of speakers in the works that will fit the room great.  If I feel the need to add "more subwoofer", it would likely be a pair of 12" sealed servo subs. 

The servo sub bass is so much better than "non-servo bass", it makes me wonder why anyone would use anything else after they hear what it can do.

Awesome. I can't wait to experience the difference myself. I imagine there being a lot more texture to the bass that many people probably never heard it like that before

We have a Rythmik F12se sub and while it is very musical and sounds great, it does not pressurize the room as some other subs and you do not feel it in your chest.  I have 2 old Martin Logan Original dynamo sealed subs rated at 180 watts each and with even just one, I can feel it in my chest and it is not sloppy in the least.  I run them with Magnepans.
